Hola Familia!!
Well, I am sitting in an internet cafe, calmly beginning to write my letter listening to classical music and as I look out the window I see people from all over the world touring the plaza of Cusco. Super rare. One, because I am listening to classical music and not reggae. Two, because I can actually SEE out the window. haha
Well this morning I was asked to play the violin with Hna Martinez in a school for disabled children. I wasn´t even nervous until they told us that there would be no music stand. So I quickly had to memorize "O Holy Night" which I had only practiced that morning 2 times. WAHHHH I think it turned out not as perfect as I like but... ok. Either way, it was a great experience and an awesome thing to do for them for Christmas. The family Jensen was there, and Brother Jensen took some pictures that are super awesome. Mom, I gave him your email and mine so hopefully they show up sometime :) It was fun.
This Saturday I am playing for the whole stake of Cusco and those invited..which is everyone!!! Its going to be a huge thing--a Christmas concert, and I am playing a piano, violin, and flute duet with the 1st counselor in the mission presidency!! Well, I am not playing all three instruments...obviously haha now THAT would be a talent...but I am excited though because, yes, I have practiced and it sounds pretty good. But it's 12 pages long. I sure hope someone can turn my pages for me :) Wohoo!
About Christmas calls...I can call you guys but I want to know when you want me to do it..I can call 24th or 25th. Whenever is best for you. I don´t know what your Christmas plans are..but let me know in the next email and I will get ready to call! Just in case my number is the codigo of peru which I think is (0051) and then 084795829. Yeah. I am excited to hear from you all and wish you all a Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!
So you remember that guy, Junior, that we were teaching but went to Lima? Well, this week he CALLED us and told us that he had found the church their in Lima and that he was receiving the discussions and he wants to get baptized! WOHOOOOOOOO!! I LOVE missionary work!!! I was super excited to hear that, if you can´t tell. haha. This Saturday we are going to have one baptism...maybe two. We will see how things play out. We are teaching a whole family and they are MARRIED (miracle) but they will be progressing for the month of January I think. We are going to spend at least part of Christmas with them. They have a son 5 years old named David :) Reminds me of my little bro :) Love ya David
Well, in this Christmas season I want you all to know that I know that Jesus is the Christ. He is the Son of God, and he was risen on the third day. His atonement is real, and can make a real change in each one of us. He is a very personal part of our lives, and he wants to forgive us. I am so greatful for my Savior and his love for me and for everyone. I love Him with all my heart. I am so grateful this time we have to remember His birth, and feel the love of our God--. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life". He is the life, and the light of the world. He gives us living water through the principles and ordinances of this gospel. This is His church, restored on the earth today to bless the lives of all who will believe on Him and take His name upon them. May we all remember him and strive to become more of His disciples as we come close to the start of a new year.
Don´t eat too much Christmas cookies :)
I love you all so much!!!!!!!
Hermana Lindsey
