Hola familia!!
I only have a few minutes to write and I am kinda sad cause I have a lot to tell you! Today we went and I got my official Peruvian ID and it took FOREVER and I am going to the temple in 30 mins so this might be a quick one. I don´t have time to load my pictures but I promise them for next week. The tour of Lima was AMAZING. I got to take really cool pictures I can´t wait for you to see them!!! Basically we just saw the coast of Lima and we did some shopping (and eating) at the markets. I got this really good churro thing filled with carmel it was soooo good.
I don´t have any proselyting stories because we just got a new set of Elders and Hermanas this week so we didn´t go out. But we get to go out next week! And then the week after that we have conference which we get to watch all of the sessions in ENGLISH I am really excited for that :) And then I am off to Cusco!!!! Yahoo!!!
So we had an earthquake here a couple days ago. Yep. And I missed it! We were in the computer lab studying spanish and everyone was like "hermana lindsey did you just feel that?!" and I was like "feel what?" "The ground and the room were shaking for a little bit we just had an earthquake!" I guess I was just to focused on my Spanish to notice a silly thing such as the room shaking in an earthquake or something like that. Seriously, I didn´t feel a thing.
Today when we went to go get our Peruvian ID we were sitting there wating...and waiting...and we met a man who lives in Cusco, speaks English (is from California) and is a member!! He was so excited to hear we were serving in Cusco. He gave us his number and so we can call him if we ever need help. He lives right by the mission home and he said it is in a really nice area. He just barely met our mission president two days ago and says he is so wonderful. Doesn´t speak any English either. :) He gave us a lot of advice about dealing with the altitude and he said the weather there is really hot during the day and really cold during the night and it is like that year round. When we get there they will just be starting their rainy season and the rainy season lasts until April and then it gets SUPER dry. He said we absolutely need long underwear for night. It gets 30 every night and it gets cold FAST. He said always always put sunscreen on, and if altitude is bothering us he had a native with him that gave us a little tea we can make that doesn´t break the word of wisdom. Something to do with lime juice. Anyway, we got lots of ideas and needless to say I believe it was a tender mercy from the Lord. I have seen so many of those this week. I can´t wait for Clarks call. Sorry I couldn´t respond to your e-mails, Time is short today. But I love you and I can´t wait to hear where Clark is going! I love you family!
Hermana Lindsey
