She Ate Guinea Pig!!!

Hola Familia!!
Well, believe it or not, one change has gone by.  Wow!  Tomorrow we have Change Meeting, but I won´t be changing.  " Newbies" will be arriving!  I won´t be new anymore!!  Yikes how time flies!  Sometimes I feel time goes by so slow, but when I look back it flew by.  It is so important to use every single minute of your time on the mission for the work of the Lord.  This is the only opportunity I have to wear my name and Christ´s name together on my chest.  Sometimes I think a whole year and half is a really long time, but if time flies like this my whole mission, I will feel like my time here was really short.

Mom, me and my companion have a stove and an area to cook in, but we don´t use it much because we have a pension, or a family that cooks for us.  Usually it is really good, except a few days ago they made something with mayonnaise and it made my companion and I really sick to our stomachs for like three days.  I am still getting over it.  But usually it is good.  They drink oatmeal here.  Every morning we have a hot drink...herbal tea, this stuff that is like coffee but is not... more like drinkable oatmeal.  I actually like it suprisingly enough because before my mission I did not even like oatmeal.  Bread and butter in the morning, rice and meat in the afternoon, and bread and butter at night.  That is what I am eating.  I have had two opportunities to eat guinea pig and it is really delicious,  if I don´t think about what it really is.  Truly, its good.  Oh, and Dad I have had "arroz con leche"  with this purple sweet stuff.  I don´t know what it is,  but I thought it was really tasty.  This was surprising to my companion, who said most North Americanos don´t like "arroz con leche".  But I really liked it.

About shoes.....the most comfortable shoes I have are the Sketchers.  Haha!!!  The Eccos are super comfy too.  My Danskos are comfortable, but I don´t usually wear them unless it is Sunday or Change Meeting because after a while they are a little uncomfortable.  And my pension does my laundry for me.  Lucky I am!  Seriously.   No one has a washing machine here so if I did my laundry it woud take up my entire P-day.

This week was good with our investigators.  We are teaching a family Lili, Brayan, and David.  David reminds me so much of David (my brother) believe it or not.  He is hilarious.  He is only 7 but has a personality.  We had a family home evening with his family and he danced a dance called "el pollo".  You have to dance it if you lose whatever game you are playing.  It's like a tradition here.  I have danced it many a time.  But he danced it "reggae" style and it had us laughing for a while.  We have a video of it.  Maybe I can send it to you sometime.  I meant to send pictures in this email but I forgot my camera, so I will have to send them next time.  Sorry.  But this family is so sweet and they could be ready for baptism, except at the last minute, they always decide that they are too busy to attend church.  The mom works practically every hour of the day and we are trying to work with her too because this family really could progress.

Also, please pray for one of our investigators named Mario.  He has had a really, really hard life and desires to change,   But because of the influence of his friends, it is really hard for him to make that change.  His parents are both members and really want their son to come into the gospel.  Mario is 20.  Also keep the familia de Brayan and Lili in your prayers.

David, I am so excited for you this week to receive your blessing.  Have faith and know that you are prepared for this wonderful moment in your life.  Study the scriptures a lot this week so you can be in tune with the spirit.  It might be a good idea to fast the day of your blessing.  That is what I did.  It is going to be an amazing experience.  Clark, keep preparing for January and I hope you are studying in school.  :)  Keep in touch with the fam!!
One of the members of our ward has a very interesting request.  She wants sunflower seeds.  Now I can tell her that I told you.   Of all the things you could get from the USA....sunflower seeds, to eat.  Strange!

Keep strong!  Love you fam!
