I'm in Cusco!

Dear Mom,

This is just a quick e-mail to tell you how I am doing now that I am in Cusco!  The flight here was just amazing we flew up from Lima and we just kept going up and up and up and we were above the clouds for a while when all of the sudden we saw the mountains--above the clouds.  It was the coolest sight ever.  Landing in Cusco was like landing in Provo--its a valley and it is so pretty.  The mountains are brown but there are a lot of trees but where I am going tonight is much greener.  My first area is THE SACRED VALLEY!  Right below macchu piccu.  I forgot what the real name is, something really hard to say.  My new companion is Hermana Cuenca.  She only has 5 months left on the mission, and she has trained 3 North Americans before.  She is really strict, but fun too.  All I hear from everyone I talk to is she is really amazing.  I am excited to get to work with her.

Well, the mission home is BEAUTIFUL.  I cant wait to send pics.  We spent our first day here so we could get used to the altitude we got that tea stuff that is supposed to help with the headache and for some reason I have not experienced that yet.  But my whole body aches and my heart is constantly pounding.  I constantly feel tired and I think it is from the lack of oxygen. I hope it doesn´t get worse.

Well, I want to say so much more but I have no time.  Mom and Dad and Angela I got your dear elders yesterday.  Thank you for them.  For an estimate, they said it takes about 10 days to get mail here. Grandma and Aunt Phyl thanks for your e-mails I will respond when I have more time!!
Oh and my mission president is AMAZING.  he is so kind and he reminds me of Bishop Lameroux just soft spoken and gentle--and he is really funny.  I love him.  His wife is kinda crazy but I love her.  She picked us up from the airport and let me tell you she OWNS the road when she drives.  It was sweet. She organized a "girls day" today for all of the sisters to get pedicures and stuff so needless to say I came at the perfect time cause I don´t think she does it very often.

I don´t really understand a lot, and I can´t speak a lot, but my companion is patient which I am thankful for.  I feel kinda home sick right now, especially after conference but I am working throguh it.  Its kinda crazy.  By the way, conference was amazing amazing amazing.

Well, i am here safe and sound and I head to my first area tonight.  Sorry I can´t write more, but I love you all.

Hermana Lindsey
