Hola Familia!!
Thank you mom for the suggestions I will start to put them into practice!!! It really helped! Suzanne Mitchell!! Temple Square!!! Tell her felicitaciones for me!! She will be an amazing missionary. And Trevor will be awesome in Guatemala. It sounds like everyone is doing really well!
Today I am spending my P-day in Cusco, I am hoping to have more pictures to send next week and I will send them one at a time. Sorry, ha ha!
Hmmm Christmas requests. I really want peanut butter. I need a new missionary journal because the one I have will not last me until next year. Oh yeah and new stockings if possible. Thanks mom so much for all you do! I love you so much!
So yesterday I had like the scariest moment of my life...k not really but it was close. Me and my companion were kneeling by our desk and my companion was saying the prayer and this ginormous spider crawled across the floor right in front of me. I screamed. Seriously it was huge. I learned an important lesson...never open your eyes during a prayer. Ha ha!
The rainy season has begun!!! Rain in the morning, rain at night, and mud during the day. Lovely. But everything is so green now. I love it. Dad I loved hearing of your experience up in the mountains. It is a great time to meditate and ponder. Meditation is how we receive personal revelation. Elder Scott gave a great talk on that a few conferences ago. I always love his talks.
Clark tell me more about Argentina! What do you know about your area, your mission president, etc. Will you be in Provo the full 9 weeks? The mission is so cool I can´t wait for you to start!
So I don´t know why, but most of our investigators right now are all youth ages 9-15 . But we are hoping for two baptisms this weekend. One is for sure, but the other we still need to work with the mom and gain her support. Their names are Yempier and Mari. Yempier is the most intelligent 11 year old I have ever met. It is incredible his desire to learn the gospel. His mom supports him completely, but she is Catholic and still wants to remain so. We are trying to work with her too. Mari is the sister of Maribelle. She has a really interesting personality and is very, very timid around us when her mom is around. But we think that she is prepared. We will see how this week goes.
I learned a lot from the example of Nephi this week in my studies. Nephi didn´t know how to construct a boat, but he trusted that the Lord knew and ACTED in faith. Nephi always acts in faith, and it is a great example for me. I don´t know Spanish perfectly, and at times I don´t know how to help an investigator, but the Lord knows and I can act in faith and trust the Lord in all things. 1 Ne 17:51.
I love you all so very much and I am so happy to have this opportunity to be in Peru and share the gospel. Stay strong!
All my love
Hermana Lindsey
