Wow, I can´t believe, Clark, you are in the MTC! How was your first day? I remembered and wondered about you on Wednesday...I remember my MTC experience with great fondness. Be careful of the food, it is too delicious. Sounds like your companions are super cool. How is it being in a threesome? When you find Bro McPherson be sure to include the words Jedi master....;) Just kidding but tell him hi for me. How are your teachers? You are so full of enthusiasm and excitement for missionary work. Thank you for including me in your letters and I hope you continue to do so. Your letter lifted my spirits.
Mom, I sent a letter in the mail to you with a bunch of letters for people that have written me and i was hoping that you could help me out and mail them for me because every letter I send here is 7 "freakin" soles. I included all the addresses and thanks so much for mailing my package with my Ensign. I will let you know when I get it. David thanks for the email. Sounds like it was a great weekend and thanks for the scripture. It is one of my favorites. Thanks, Dad, for your uplifting emails every week, and thanks, Mom, for everything.
So I ate the weirdest fruit ever yesterday. Its called igos...i think that's how you spell it. But it has a milky outside and tentacle looking things that taste like strawberries inside. It is really delicious but boy did it look weird. ;)
I am starting to increase my confidence in the Lord and initiate the contacts on the street. I have no problem continuing them once they are started but it's the initiating that I really do not like doing...but I know that if I show my faith through my actions that we can find families to teach. The Lord will help us. Contacting is still really uncomfortable, but I am getting better. I am starting to recognize the joy of finding new people. Yeah, there are a lot that won´t listen, but there are many that will. Lo and behold, we found a new family. She was initially interested because she wanted me to teach her children English. But when she came to the church for the classes she was touched by the ambiance and what I know is the Spirit that she invited us into her home and we are starting to teach her. I just hope the husband and wife are married. But I met the husband the other day and he is so great. It is a great joy when I find great priesthood men here...because they are the hardest to find and the hardest to teach. But the Lord has prepared this family. And now that changes are coming up in a couple of weeks...I feel sad that I might not be able to finish teaching this family but I know the Lord has his plans for me. The upcoming change. It is the last change for my companion in her mission!! Woooh! So one of us is going this next change. She has been such a great example for me and has taught me so much.
Oh yeah, also in our contacts (we are doing a lot because our Pres challenged us to contact 140 people a week....20 people a day) and we contacted the branch president's wife. How embarrassing. It's because we just had a change of the branch president last week and because I was sick I didn´t get to meet her.....but we invited her to church! haha
I am so grateful to be in the mission. It is such a joy to find and to teach people about this gospel. I wouldn´t trade this experience in Peru for anything.
Keep it up, Clark! I love you, family, so much!
Hermana Lindsey
