Feliz Año Nuevo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feliz Año Nuevo familia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2012!

How was your new years? My companion shared with me some cool New Year's traditions they have here. I sent two pictures--hope you like the glasses we bought :)  Aparte de este, we bought grapes.  New Years eve we filled a cup with grapes and for each grape we ate we had to think of a desire for the new year and only when we finished our cup of grapes could we congratulate each other for the new year.  The grapes are huge and reallly really sweet.  It was hard to eat a full cup of them!!!!!  Then we made hot chocolate and ate some paneton...I don´t know what I did without paneton in my life ;)  But it was a great new year. The president was traveling back to Cusco and asked if me and my companion would have dinner with his family New Year's eve.  So New Year's eve was spent with the president here in Urubumba :) It was great.

Sunday we went out to proselyte but practically every person was drunk so we didn´t have much success in contacting people...but it was still a good new years day.

What are your New Year's resolutions?  Dad said you finished painting the living room. I bet it looks really nice.

NO SNOW? Porqùe??????? David, my Christmas was so great. I got to talk with you and it was so fun to hear your voice!  One of the members here in the branch made me a little Peruvian doll that is really cute.  But Christmas was just a normal day for us missionaries :)

Clark, your email made me laugh so much.  It sounds like your talk was the bomb.  I am so glad you are so pumped for the mission.  What is it like 10 days?  YAY!  Love your family this week a lot :)  You are ready!  Everyone said that your farewell talk was really strong.  Sabes que?  I met two members from Cordoba in my area last week. They were here to visit Machu Picchu but I told them my brother is going to that area really soon!  I don´t know if you will ever see them, but it was cool and it made me think of you :)  Thanks for the detailed description of your suit. I am sure your rockin the missionary attire :)  Stay strong!!  I pray for your success!

This week was kind of hard because we are trying to find new people to teach. We don´t have many that are progressing but my confidence grew in the timing and the will of the Lord and the importance of contacting every person.  Contacting is not my favorite, its hard for me to start up the conversation, let alone in spanish.  But we were looking for contacts and we decided to contact this one old guy that has like 89 years and I wasn't really sure if he understood what we were saying but he was really nice and we said we would visit him later.  When we visited him later we found a 19 year old young man who was there to take care of them and he was really receptive to the message of the gospel.  We contacted his mom yesterday too and she is ready to listen to the gospel.  Sometimes you don´t know the will of the Lord, but you just have to act and trust in His will and timing.  If we hadn´t contacted the grandpa, who knows if we would have ever found these people the Lord has prepared.

Today in our zone meeting we talked about personal revelation.  Joseph Smith said a person cannot receive exaltation without receiving personal revelation.  I believe we receive personal revelation every day.  The more we can act on it, the more trust the Lord puts in us and the more we will receive.  This is what it means I think to abide in Christ and his word, as it says in John 15.  Ask and you shall recieve, knock and it shall be opened unto you.

Well family I love you so much!  Tell everyone to have a great year 2012 for me :)  Until next week!

Hermana Lindsey
