My first Christmas in Peru :) I am really excited for this weekend. So here is what is going on. I get to call you Christmas Eve for 5 min and tell you the time I will be calling on Christmas day and then I will call Mom's cell phone...but i get to use SKYPE!! I don't know exactly how I can work that out 'cause I don't have an account...but I find out all the details on Thursday when I go to the mission home for Christmas dinner. Either way...you will definitely hear from me on Saturday and Sunday...YAY! It is only 40 minutes though...but at least I get to call...and even better if I can figure out how to do it I can do it through skype! So be prepared to see me :) and if not you will get to hear me and my broken English and semi-broken Spanish...I am always in transition. haha.
This week is hard to get appointments and stuff because everyone is preparing to travel or is busy shopping or cooking or doing whatever for the holidays. Rememer that one time in Texas when we recieved that package of food and Christmas stories from a family in the ward? I have never forgotten that, and I was talking about it with my companion and we have decided to involve one of the members that will be here and make one for a family that doesn't have anything for Christmas this year that is in our branch. I am really excited because they are my favorite family...if that is allowed :) They have three little girls and it is always so fun to go to their house. I think I might have sent home a picture of the mom with a plate of food in front of her...I can't remember. But that is her. She cooks for us. I am always so humbled to go over and see that they are all happy even though they have nothing. It is really great.
We start singing...what is the word...choir? Argh! the word for when you go around singing Christmas songs to people? We are going to start doing that tomorrow. I am excited for that too. Just a quick update on what I am doing here but I can't wait to talk to you on Sunday!!!! And I am pretty sure I remember your number, Mom...but I don't remember anyone elses--so be ready :) I love you all and hope you have a very, very Merry Christmas and remember what the season really is about!
Lots of love
Hermana Lindsey
