Changes!

Hola familia!!!

Well, I am sure you are all anxious to hear the changes this week.  We had three new sister missionaries come in this change.   One is from Missouri, the others are from Latin America.  Hna Hoffman is training one of them. She was so nervous but I am sure she will do great.  I received a new companera--her name is Hna Yoc.  It's like saying "yuck".  But she is great.  She is from Guatemala and she is really sweet and kind. She has 13 months in the mission.  It was really hard for me to see Hna Cuenca go.  Apart from the reason that she was my madre in the mission, she just knows how to do the work.  I don´t know how to explain it.  That is what I am really missing right now.  Someone that really knows how to work and how to have fun while doing it.  Hna Cuenca always had a solution to every problem, and if not she would come up with one.  When the investigators present problems, I go with the best knowledge I have but sometimes I know that there could be a better solution and I don´t know what it is.  And I know Hna Cuenca would know and that kind of tortures me.  But I am trying to learn how to solve problems and plan better all on my own and it is kind of hard.  My companion is really sweet and she has a great way of using the scriptures while teaching but because she doesn´t know the area,  it is up to me right now to plan all the activities and where to go and who to talk to and what members to bring--and its the first time I have had to plan everything all by myself and it is harder than I thought.  Especially when we had 5 people with a baptismal date and 3 of them left Cusco for other parts of Peru and the other two are having difficulties with their families and so we are not sure if they will be baptized this Saturday.  In other words, its the first time I felt like we had no one to teach and I felt completely lost.  I felt more uplifted today in the zone meeting when we talked about our purpose and how to work in our purpose.  There is a scripture in D&C 24:12 that really motivated me.  Work day and night to declare the gospel and God will give you the strength like you have never known.  If I can work hard this week and show more faith, we can help the people that we are teaching and we can find people that the Lord has prepared for us.

I met Hna Swartz from Highland,  Utah.  Her mom teaches Spanish at Lone Peak High School.  She is super sweet and really, really excited to be in the mission.  She has a great trainer, Hna Sanfransisco.  It was fun to finally meet her!

Clark, it sounds like you had some great opportunites in the MTC that you will always remember.  Stay focused :)  Haha and I can feel your testimony and your enthusiasm from your letters.  Thanks for that.  Keep working hard.
David, sounds like your camp out was a blast!  Love you lots.

Mom and Dad, thanks for your continual support and love.  My companion and I  taught Primary this Sunday and I thought of you mom :)  Hope you all had a happy Valentines Day!  Yes they celebrate it here as a day of friendship by throwing water and paint on each other.  Luckily I have not got soaked :)

Until next week!!!

Hermana Lindsey
