Hola familia!!
Well, I officially have 6 months in the mission. Gah!! I really cannot believe it. I don´t feel like I have six months. I remember arriving in the mission and thinking that those with six months were so wise and all knowing and spoke Spanish very well. Well, I have the months but I don´t feel that amazing. I know I have progressed, but I have so many weaknesses and I have so much to learn. What a great thing it is that I have a whole year left.
Changes are tomorrow. Hna Cuenca is leaving and I am staying I know that much. I am sad that she is leaving because we have become such great companions and I have so much love for her but I know it is time. We´ve been together for 3 changes. She is either going to Puno or Puerto for her last change! If she goes to Puno, she will get to see Los Uros (the people that were in the Ensign that live on the islands in Lake Titicaca!) because president lets all the people that finish in Puno visit the islands. What an experience if that is true!!!! It sounds so great, but if I ever go to Puno I think my body might explode and freeze to death. The climate and the altitude there is a killer.
Everyone thinks that I will be training this change because I have been here for 3 changes and Valle Sagrado is a great place to train. One Hermana from Honduras is coming in this change. We will see. If it be the case, pray for me because I sure don´t feel ready but I am up to the experience if the Lord wishes.
Mom we received the package yesterday---thank you soo sooo much for everything. The sweater is so nice and the headbands are so cute and I am so grateful for the blanket because it gets really cold here at night. Everything was perfect. And the pancake mix is a hit. We will be making lots of pancakes until my companion leaves tomorrow. :)
The work is going really well. We have 5 people that have baptismal dates for this month, and it is pretty much certain that 4 will be baptized. It will be a great month. We are teaching a beautiful family of 4 that is so well prepared for this message it is amazing. They will progress for the next month. We taught a powerful lesson to one of our investigators that has a baptismal date for this Saturday. He told us at the beginning of the lesson that he wasn´t sure if this was right and he was thinking of going to Lima where his family lives on Tuesday...well then he wouldn´t be here for his baptism. So we asked him if he prayed about it and he said he prayed but not about his baptism because he was scared to pray. We assured him that God listens to every prayer no matter how it is or who is the person and we invited him to pray with us and ask in his prayer about his baptism. He agreed, and so he said the prayer and in the prayer he asked for some sign to know if it was true. After the prayer he began to cry and said that he felt a peace and a very warm feeling so strong in his heart he knew that this was right. We testified to him that this is the answer he is looking for, and that this was the Spirit of God communicating with him. He told us he won´t return to Lima until he is baptized. How important it is to really listen to our investigators needs!!!! It is a true miracle!!!!
I loved reading Clark's letters. They are so full of personality and enthusiasm!! Keep it going Clark! Thanks David and Dad and Mom for all your emails. I am doing well. My health is getting better and I will be here in Urubumba for another little while so life is great!! And a Happy Valentines Day to all of you with lots and lots of love!!!!
