Hola!

Hola familia!!!

Well, this week was really awesome and really tough at the same time.  We lost all of our baptismal dates, and I felt a lot of weight and a lot of pressure on me for that.  Jacob 5:47 is what I felt like.  What more could I have done for my vineyard?  The people that went on vacation to Lima, or who knows what,  I am sad for them but knew I did my best. But the others, sometimes I wish I could help them with their struggles.  The problem for them is that they are of age like 25 or 26 but do everything their parents tell them to and they live with their parents and when their parents tell them that they can´t be baptized they have fear to go against the word of their parents and be rejected by their whole family.  Its tough, but I know that if they really had a testimony they would know that baptism is what they should do no matter what.  I can teach them and promise them blessings and help them in whatever way I can, but if they don´t pray and gain their own answer that these things are not just good, are not just really pretty, but are actually true, then they won´t be able to progress.  It hurts me to see them struggle so much when they are holding the truth in their hands and all they need to do is pray and they don´t want to because of fear.

In this time of struggle for us as missionaries we did find new families that I believe are prepared for this message that we are starting to teach.  Their is joy in the work!  One of the families we are teaching has a son who is 23 years old but is mentally handicapped.  I felt really impressed to talk about the plan of salvation with them, but my companion started to talk about the importance of the scriptures....what can you do but support your companion and try to teach what the spirit directs. She can receive inspiration too. The handicapped son scares her and she doesn´t like talking with him.  It makes me really sad because it is a perfect moment to testify of the families and of the blessings the gospel can bring.  I just hope that we can continue teaching them and they were not offended because my companion was a little bit cold with them because she is afraid.

Elder Wadell of the Seventy came and talked with us this week.  Wow it was amazing!  I don´t have a lot of time to talk about what he taught, but I will try to remember for next time. He talked a lot about our purpose as missionaries.  He brought the Spirit of the Lord so strong and he helped us recognize and remember who we are and who we represent and it doesn´t matter what people say or do-- we need to preach this gospel with all our heart. mind and strength because that is our calling and that is our purpose and it is no accident that we are here in Cusco,  Peru to do it.  It was really powerful.

David, you got snow???  How fun!!  Clark. it sounds like you are doing great and getting anxious to get into the field.  I am so happy for you.  And you are a district leader?  What a great learning opportunity!!!!!!

We have a soccer tournament with the mission and we are getting t-shirts for our district.  I am pretty excited to see that.

Press forward with faith
